Tres entrevistes de treball en anglès simulant situacions professionals reals dins l’àmbit de sistemes microinformàtics i xarxes. Cada integrant ha exercit tant de entrevistador com d’entrevistat, amb vídeos enregistrats com a evidència.

Introducció al projecte
Objectiu principal
En aquesta activitat s’han realitzat tres entrevistes de treball en anglès relacionades amb el sector TIC. L’objectiu ha estat demostrar fluïdesa oral, comunicació professional, ús de vocabulari tècnic, capacitat de resolució de problemes i habilitat per mantenir converses naturals en un entorn professional. Totes tres han estat enregistrades en vídeo com a evidència del procés.

Yes, my name is Iman and I’m an IT student. I like to work with hardware, network configuration, and basic programming languages.

So you are here today for the IT position. Why are you interested in working in IT?

Because I think technology is everything today, and I also enjoy working with computers. I also like to help people learn more about technology so they can improve themselves as well.

You said you like to work with computers and solving technical problems. What technical skills do you have?

I like learning Windows and Linux installation, the configuration of networks, hardware, and I have worked with switches and routers as well.

Can you explain a technical problem you solved before?

Yeah, in one of my projects, I saw that two PCs were not talking with each other correctly. So first, I checked if they were in the same VLAN or not. They were in the same VLAN, so I checked the subnet mask and the IP, and the subnet mask was incorrect. So I set it correctly, and then it worked correctly.

What about coding, Iman? If we’re going to give you this position, you must be good at more than one thing — not only with networking but also with coding. What can you say about yourself regarding coding?

I worked with Python, HTML, and C#. I’m not sure that I’m a professional because it’s a little bit hard, but I have worked with Python and everything, so I can do a little bit of coding by myself without using AI.

How do you work in a team? This is very important.

I have worked in a team before. I’m a responsible person, and communication is key. If we talk with each other, we will do the work correctly and we will help each other better, so there will be no awkward situations. If you want to say something to each other, we can say it without hesitation.

But what if one of your teammates didn’t go very well with you, with your opinion, or doesn’t want to choose your solutions?

I will listen to my teammate as well, to what their opinion is. If we compare our opinions, whichever will be the best, we will choose that opinion.

I like to improve my cybersecurity skills, and in networks, I want to learn more and more.

Do you have any previous experience working with a company like ours?

Yeah, in my school, I did an internship at one company. I used Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and everything with that. So I’m pretty good at everything.

Hi, so my name is Eva and thank you for this opportunity to interview. I’m studying system and network administration and I’m very passionate about technology — especially hardware troubleshooting, software, and cybersecurity as well. I enjoy solving technical problems and learning new technologies.

Why are you interested in this position?

I’m interested in this position because I like to work with PCs. Not just now, but since I was young. Technology is like a deep sea; it never ends. There’s always too much stuff to learn, too much stuff to discover. This is actually one of my dream positions because I’m going to be working on what I actually like — not just what I studied, but what I genuinely like.

Can you tell me your technical skills?

I have experience with hardware installation and optimization. I’ve worked with both Linux and Windows using commands — whether the CMD or the desktop versions — troubleshooting virtual machines, and basic cybersecurity concepts. I also work with network cabling and manageable projects.

Can you please explain a difficult technical problem that you solved or had to deal with?

Yes, of course. During a PC assembly project, the system was not posting — the POST process wasn’t completing correctly. So, first I checked the motherboard. Then I checked the RAM modules and the power supply cables. After troubleshooting carefully, I discovered one RAM module was not fully connected. After fixing it and putting it right into its correct place, the system booted correctly and the BIOS detected all the components successfully.

Are you okay working alone or with a team?

About responsibility, I can say that I’m a very responsible person. I always show up to work. Also, working in a team is much, much better than working alone because you can do more work in less time, get more ideas from your teammates, and help each other troubleshoot. Even so, if I need to work alone, it’s not going to be a big deal for me.

Can you tell me what your future goals are?

My future goals are to improve myself — my studies and my technical skills — and specialize in cybersecurity. It’s been my interest for a really long time. It’s a very big concept, a very hard one, but I think I’m doing fine since I’m very passionate about it.

Have you ever worked with a programming language in a company or a project?

In my past company, I specialized in the website department. I worked with Python, HTML, and some CSS. Python is one of the easiest and most famous languages — it runs on almost everything. HTML is a very visual language for the front end. CSS is much harder but I can definitely manage to work with it. Those three are the languages I’ve been working with the most.

If you’re working in a team and your teammate doesn’t agree with your opinion, what would you do?

There are always going to be different opinions in a team. What I like to do is first analyze what the problem is, take opinions from all sides equally, and figure out which is the best solution — whether it’s mine or my teammate’s. If my teammate is correct, I don’t mind at all, as long as we can work in harmony and deliver the best work we can.

I enjoy learning about how computers work, how computer system components communicate together, and I also like assembling components.

Yes, I do. I would check if the power supply is functioning and if the motherboard is connected, and verify the RAM installation step by step.

Yes, I have experience from my institution. We worked in teams. If a teammate is hard to communicate with, I like to take on responsibility and make sure the work gets done properly.

I would like to improve a lot of things, like my communication skills, language skills, and programming systems knowledge.

You are a very motivated person when it comes to IT. Since when did this interest of yours start?

I don’t remember exactly, but I think I was 13 or 14 when I studied computer systems in my school, and from then on it became my passion.

Have you ever worked in a multinational company? And do you have the ability to start immediately if we call you for this position?

No, not until now, but I did have practical work experience at my institution. And yes, I’m very motivated about the job — I am ready to start.

Conclusions
Aquesta activitat ha permès practicar la comunicació oral en anglès dins un context professional relacionat amb la informàtica i les xarxes. Les tres entrevistes enregistrades han cobert posicions reals del sector TIC: Network Support Technician, IT Support / Systems Administrator i Junior Hardware Technician.
Les entrevistes han ajudat a millorar la fluïdesa oral, la pronunciació, la improvisació, el vocabulari tècnic i la confiança en situacions professionals. Es demostren expressions idiomàtiques apropiades, capacitat d’improvisació davant preguntes inesperades (conflictes d’equip, programació, experiència laboral), i un registre professional amb naturalitat en la conversa.
Els tres vídeos enregistrats constitueixen evidències directes de tot el procés, complint els requisits de documentació PRO+. Aquesta experiència és molt útil per preparar futures entrevistes de treball dins el sector tecnològic i desenvolupa habilitats comunicatives aplicades al món laboral real.
